I.have been collecting names for this campaign now for a few weeks and the total is over 1400 which I am very pleased about. thanks to everyone who has shown their support for City playing at Milton Road next season. It is very interesting to read fans comments which often reflect on many tens of years of experiences and love for our club.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT ?
My understanding is that the City Board are attempting to secure next season at MR and at Nationwide South so I will not not public with this petition unless the club fails and the gates are locked.
WHAT’S THE POINT ?
You may well ask !! Brian York and his colleagues at Ross River are obviously upset that they are not getting their way with the land sale and subsequent sell on plans that they had, but come on guys, you want to lock us out and stop us playing a game of football in the 100th year ? Ok so you make a point that you are not happy, but to let the place grow weeds and fall into disrepair seems a waste of resources.
If the club is allowed to rent the ground again for another season our landlords will gain a lot of Brownie points, not to say a fee for the rent, which seems to make more sense than making more enemies and being Mr Unpopular.
We assume RR thought they bought the land in good faith, and want to turn over a quick profit, but as a football business the club also needs to protect itself, but also has an obligation to provide sporting activity at Milton Road for hundreds of people. We may not have the best team in the world, or have the biggest support, but the happiness seen on young and Old fans faces alike on matchdays shows that this football club should live on to celebrate our 100th year at Milton Road next season. Just give us a chance.
